"Shrunu Devi Pravakshyami" – "Listen, O Goddess, I shall reveal…" This phrase, uttered by Shiva, holds the key to unlocking the secrets of the universe. It is the spark that sets off a chain reaction, revealing the mysteries of existence.
Shiva's fundamental nature is that of a samadhistha, a state of deep meditation. He is the epitome of knowledge, yet his wisdom remains dormant, awaiting the catalyst of inquiry. Shiva requires a worthy questioner, a seeker of truth, to stir him from his slumber.
Enter Pārvatī, the embodiment of the divine feminine, who asks the questions that unleash the wisdom of Shiva. It is her inquiry that sets the wheels of knowledge in motion. The credit for the revelations of the Āgama Śāstra, therefore, goes not only to Shiva but also to Pārvatī, whose questions awakened the dormant wisdom.
We owe a debt of gratitude to this divine pair, particularly to Pārvatī, who embodies the power of inquiry. Her questions have the capacity to extract the deepest secrets from Shiva.
A true seeker must cultivate this spirit of inquiry, becoming an ardhanaarīśvara, a being with both masculine and feminine qualities. This integration enables the seeker to ask profound questions and receive answers from within.
If you cannot attain this level of self-inquiry, then strive to become a worthy questioner. Ask questions that stir the depths of your being, and you will find that your inner Shiva begins to reveal the secrets of the universe.
Remember, Shiva's samadhi is beneficial only for himself, but his awakened state is essential for the world. The world needs the wisdom of Shiva, and it is up to us to awaken it through our inquiry.
